How are editions chosen?
Each edition is one calendar day in New York time, matching Hacker News. It shows that day's 30 highest-scoring stories, ordered by points. Today's edition fills in and reorders as the day goes on.
How do I switch days?
Tap a day at the top, or swipe left and right on the story list. The ⌖ mark jumps back to today.
Articles and discussions
Tap a story to read the article in the in-app browser. Tap its comment count to open the discussion. Tap a comment's name line to collapse it and its replies; tap again to expand. Collapsed comments stay collapsed when you return to a thread. Press and hold a story or comment to share it, copy it or open it on Hacker News.
The app is not updating
Editions refresh when you open the app and every five minutes while it is open. Pull down on the list to refresh now. Without a connection, the app shows the stories and discussions it saved last time.
Can I log in, vote or comment?
No. Daily Hacker News is a reader. To vote or reply, open the story on Hacker News from its menu.
