Stremio Player
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 5, 2026.
Stremio Player is made by Little Tools LLC. We run no servers for it and collect no data: no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app talks directly to the services below, as your use of it requires.
Your Stremio account
When you sign in, your email and password go to Stremio (api.strem.io), which returns a key the app keeps in your device's keychain. Your library, watch progress and addons are read from and saved to your Stremio account. Stremio's own privacy policy covers what it keeps.
Addons and the services they use
Catalogs, streams and subtitles come from the addons you install, which are run by third parties. The app sends them what a request needs, such as a title's ID. Streams play from wherever the addon points, which can be a debrid service you have set up in that addon.
Other services
- IMDb, for the Home rows and title details: the rows' filters and your country.
- Stremio's Cinemeta, for title details and new-episode checks: title IDs.
- SkipDB and IntroDB, for intro and credits times: a title's IMDb ID and the video's length.
- Google Cast, when you cast: the app finds Chromecasts on your Wi-Fi network and sends them the video's address. Google's analytics in the Cast library are turned off.
On your device
Your settings, recent searches, the offline cache and downloads stay on your device. New-episode alerts are notifications scheduled on the device.
Diagnostics
The app keeps a log on your device to help fix problems. It leaves the device only if you choose Share Diagnostics, and then only to where you send it. Account keys and addon links are removed from it first.
Children
Stremio Player is not directed at children.
